I woke up this morning feeling hungry..as usual. So my babe goes down to find some bread only to discover there was non. Innocently, he said he would go to his second aunt’s house, which is just 2 doors down the street to borrow some bread. The conversation was in the language of Cantonese..”Ngo wan ngo tai ye ma loh min pau”..with a straight face. Those of you that understand what it means, that was purely innocent but for those who doesn’t, the meaning can mean 2 things. Either the direct translated meaning one or the hidden meaning behind the phrase. It’s a Chinese kind of joke.
Today we woke up late so we had late dinner at our usual kopitiam. Nothing special happen when you wake up late in the day. All the good stuff usually happens early in the day.
As we started to settle ourselves in the kopitiam, Mark couldn’t help noticing a table behind us. Oh they are normal well-being people, don’t worry about that. Husband and wife having dinner with a friend (i suppose). What is unusual was on their table. Two bottle of red wine (didn’t manage to read the label but it’s definitely table wine) and one bottle of Super Skol. For those who don’t know what Super Skol is, Super Skol is a full-bodied strong lager that contains 9% alcohol which is slightly sweeter with lower bitterness but with a strong fruity/floral character. You can get it at any kopitiam or 7-11. It’s cheaper then Tiger or Carlsberg. Anyway, instead of drinking those wines and beer separately, they decided to mix them and create a concoction. It look like Fanta Grape Soda. THAT IS JUST WEIRD. People with preference. Though the wine is cheap, please don’t try to spoil it and make it worst.
The lesson of the story is, don’t ruin your drinks people. Beer and wine can’t mix it into a cocktail!
Post beach blues is over. As much as I want to keep being lazy, I can’t. Time is money, sad to say.
I promise some pictures from Gem Island after our trip so here it is. The trip was scheduled on 09th Oct 2009 til 11th Oct 2009. Gem Island is located at Marang, a district of the East Coast state Terengganu, Malaysia. It’s your choice to go there by air or land. We chose air. Hire a cab from the airport once you arrive. It’ll just cost you RM50 for the half hour journey to the jetty. From there you will need to take a 15 minutes boat ride to reach paradise. On your return journey, don’t forget to stop at Losong Town, Terengganu if you love “keropok lekor”, a Malay traditional fish cracker. If you’re not sure which stall to buy, go to Kak Yah’s Keropok Lekor as she is quite famous for them. Gem Island Resort & Spa will arrange your transportation/cab/boat ride during your return to the mainland. During our trip the monsoon was nearing. Making our trip a little murky on the sea water but still it was beautiful. Should it be during the nice sunny peak season, I am sure the sea water is amazing. The resort have 3 private beach for you to roam and there is ONLY 1 resort on the whole entire island. Talk about privacy. It’s like owning your own beach. Gem Island is a place for you to retreat and unwind from all the buzz in the city. With only 45 chalet on the whole entire island, what more can u ask.

We just got back from Pulau Gemia aka Gem Island last week. The place was really beautiful and full of privacy. If it wasn’t for the confirmed air tickets, we would be staying another night instead of 3 days 2 nights. Standard procedure, after the beach you’ll feel lazy, period. As much as I want to post up pictures on blog/facebook etc, the laziness still lingers. So I’ll be posting those pictures soon ya..hehehe..
I needed to improvise on how to cook bacon in Stone. My babe and I was craving for it. The office doesn’t have a stove. All we got was a rice cooker. Nonetheless, craving is still craving. We got the bacon and when office hours is totally closed, i used a rice cooker to sizzle 9pcs of deliciously scrumptious bacon. It turn out beautifully as how one would use a pan. Bon appetit
25th September 2009 marks the day where Arthur Guinness celebrates his 250th years excellent brew. An innovation that is regarded as remarkable and still enjoyed around the globe until today. This event also marked the start of the heritage and legacy of Arthur worldwide. To commemorate this honorable event, Guinness have made it into a global event in celebrating Arthur’s Day in 5 country only. These 5 lucky country includes Dublin (of course), New York, Yaoundé, Lagos and our very own Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Party goers from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and globally flocked to KL to attend Arthurs’ Day.
It was a great party which was held in Sunway Lagoon. They drain the surf pool to make way for the most anticipated top line-up..*drum roll*..Black Eyed Peas and not to forget the other local acts like Reshmonu, Joe Flizzow, Danny One and Man Hand from Malaysia. MJ116 from Taiwan also performed during that night. We partied til 12am with my sister+bro in-law, Mark, Matt, John, Jo and Arvin but the night was still young and we were still pumping so off we go back to Stone MusicWorks to continue and make music
So let us all raise our glass to the man who brought all this together and still going strong. We salute Arthur Guinness.
Guinness, here we come…
Some moments taken during Arthur’s Day
The past 2 days was crazy in Stone MusicWorks. We were shock to come in the office late one night and discover there was a puddle of water behind the kitchen. It was a mini pool about an inch high water level. The kitchen is also wide enough to be a workshop for Mark to fix his guitars. Luckily, his equipments was above water level but sadly, the water manage to creep a little further away from the kitchen and wet the carpets. Water was leaking non-stop. Every 1 hour or so, we had to mop the floor and the water would filled up about half a bucket. So that night, Mark and I overnight in Stone. Taking our pillows and blankets along. Thank god the next day problem was resolve when Mark’s mom called the contractor ASAP. If things were to dragged on, we wouldn’t be able to go anywhere at all.
